Yo Design started in early 2017. It started with only one typeface, but then the character set was extended by adding more fonts and novelties: Raleway Display, FF Tisa Sans, and Lora Display. An ascender that often occurs in cursive faces – representing an uppercase letter without an ascender serif will create similar results on every descender too!

It should be mentioned that each font includes small caps and numerals as well as a selection of alternative Berlin-based graphic design studios, The Gensler Agency in collaboration with type designer Jonathan Kisin, has released the Alpha font family. Alpha is designed to be a modern typeface for headlines that are set as bold and eye-catching.

It was named after the first letter in the Greek alphabet and provides not just an A-Z extended character set inspired by classical sans serif typefaces but also a wide range of 0-9 ‘alphaesque’ numerals. Although the shape of Alpha is clear and geometric, it lets its users with a great range of showy styles like fine concave angles on various characters and drips with characters on top serifs among others.

Started by Callum Finn right back in 2010, Alpha was created to be a reliable yet creative alternative to most commercial typeface families – while still maintaining a strong and refined connection to the world of typography. It understands that people want logos, headlines, and smaller copy text, but what they really need is also legibility in small sizes.

Until 2020, Alpha will continue being an independent project without any additional financial support or backing.
