Bembo Font

Bembo Font is rich in background and timeless in beauty was designed in 1929 by the British Monotype Corporation. It was inspired by the type in a 1495 book, printed by one of the most celebrated printers of the Italian Renaissance, Aldus Manutius, and is named after an Italian humanistic poet named Pietro Bembo. This typeface was designed in such a way that it would achieve elegance and legibility and yet remain inherent in the space limitations common in Venetian humanist-type fonts. For that reason, it has become much loved by many publishers and designers who seek a classic but very readable font.

The Bembo Font does come out quite powerfully where the aspect of readability is concerned. The style of the lettering of this sort is clear, and so is the balance, to such an extent that it is highly pleasing to the eye even after perusing long texts.

Bembo Font

This is attributed to its moderate contrast between thick and thin strokes, high counters, and x-height with good proportion. These qualities make Bembo a type that remains clear at almost every size and weight. Hence this has been the type of choice in books, academic papers, and other long documents. Its independent characteristic is equal for both print and digital media, resulting in an overall consistent and professional appearance of the media.

The aesthetics ooze from Bembo Font, not with a slick, glossy sophistication but in the best, most classical ways. Its gentle serifs, harmonious curves, and the sense of tradition and authority it gives all combine to afford respectability, eminence, and an air of excellence in everything formal and scholarly. Bembo has the quality of timelessness, that means it works great with so many other typefaces and design elements; otherwise slow to ooze effortlessly into the layout with a historical feel. Bembo is at home in body text as it is in display; it imparts a touch of sophistication and reliability that few other typefaces can.
